Hoi,
I need to replace the front-axes on my 16 (R1150) from'66.
A few years ago i bought a pair new ones assuming they would fit in my car, because on the box it was marked :"premiere model"
Reading the workshop manual I'm not so sure anymore.
It says that axes with the Spider GE86 universal joint at the wheel side do not fit in my car. The joints on my new axes look a bit like this but also they don't. The ones on my new axes are half open
Who can help? The part number of my new axes is 77 01 498 700. It seems there also "open" universal joints at the wheelside with a metal cover and rubber. They look a bit like that. Will these axes fit?

I think they will fit.
The GE86 is completely sealed, and the ones you have are open to the wheel side, right? I have had that kind on my -66 for many years now, no problems.

Thank you for your reply

And yes this joint at the wheel side is open at the wheel side and closed at the other side
I also checked the distance for the lockin pin hole at the gearbox side.
It's 20 mm, which is right distance as I understand correctly from the manual
